Do you ever wonder what that old refrigerator in the garage is costing you to cool a couple of six-packs? MEC is now offering a Refrigerator and Freezer Early Retirement and Recycling Program. If you plan to purchase a new refrigerator or freezer…or if you want to rid yourself of the cost of maintaining that second refrigerator in the garage, an incentive is available for having the appliance recycled.
A Refrigerator and Freezer Early Retirement and Recycling form must be filled out and submitted to MEC along with a copy of the recycling documentation. The documentation must either state that the appliance was delivered to a certified recycler or that the appliance was picked up or removed by a retailer that guarantees the appliance will be recycled.
