Prepared to Power Your School Year
MEC’s Education Program kicks off this fall
Bright Future Fund
MEC’s Bright Future Fund (BFF) provides funding to area schools who are seeking educationally focused dollars. Schools also have the opportunity to apply for a larger lump sum to use toward a Merit Project of substantial student or school value.
The application period for this program begins in October and applications will be accepted until early November. School Superintendents and/or Principals will receive an official notice with the application timeline this fall.
Scholarships
In November, MEC members and/or their dependents, high school seniors and older, can apply for MEC’s General Scholarships. Historically, applicants have been scored on three criteria: scholastic achievement, future goals and community involvement/school activities. MEC has also offered two scholarships to students who are currently attending, or who plan to attend, an accredited Line School in the state of Montana.
The application period and scholarship specifics will be announced in Rural Montana and on Facebook in the months ahead.
2024 Youth Tour
Attention all high school sophomores and juniors! Would you like to win an all-expenses-paid trip to Washington D.C.?
Applications for the 2024 Youth Tour will be available on our website at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, November 1, 2023. The application period will end at 5 p.m. on Thursday, November 30th, 2023. This year’s essay question is, “If you could have dinner with one prominent Washington D.C. figure, whether from the past or present, who would that person be and why? What would you ask them?”
Safety Program
MEC’s Safety Committee is working hard to revamp the Co-op’s existing school Safety Program. But not to worry! In the meantime, our Safety and Compliance Manager, Sean Eskridge, is still available for classroom presentations. Simply email SeanE@meccoop.com to secure a date this fall.
