Education, Training & Information
The Fourth Cooperative Principle
Like other cooperatives, Missoula Electric Cooperative prioritizes ongoing education and training for its members, elected officials, leadership team and employees. Providing these simple yet effective tools empowers individuals to contribute to the growth and success of the Cooperative.
The Co-op’s commitment to learning permeates every level of the organization. Trustees and employees participate in comprehensive training programs, learning from local, regional and national industry leaders. This knowledge is then disseminated across all departments to further develop programming, refine safety practices and create operational efficiencies.
As a member-owned cooperative, MEC is also committed to information sharing. The Co-op uses various communication channels, including social media, Rural Montana Magazine, community events, mailers, and more, to ensure members are well-informed.
By fostering education and information sharing, Missoula Electric Cooperative strengthens its roots and enriches member and community relationships.
