Whether you’re a student saving up for your future, an educator shaping young minds, or an administrator seeking innovative solutions, MEC has programs tailored just for you!
Opportunities for Schools
Bright Future Fund
MEC’s Bright Future Fund is a grant program designed to energize classrooms and amplify student success. Schools across our service territory can apply for funding to support creative projects or impactful resources.
Do you have a bigger vision that requires a more substantial budget? Apply for a Merit Project grant—designed to help schools launch bold initiatives that provide lasting value for students and staff alike.
Grant applications will be sent to school Principals in October and close in mid-November – Exact dates TBA soon!
If you are an educator with a project or program that needs supplementary funding, please encourage your school’s Superintendent or Principal to apply on your behalf.
Electrical Safety Training
MEC offers free Electrical Safety Presentations for classrooms, schools, and organizations throughout our service area. Led by our Safety & Compliance Manager, these sessions are packed with engaging demonstrations and practical tips that keep students safe around electricity. Opportunities for Students
Scholarships
Dreaming of college, trade school, or a lineworker program? MEC wants to help you get there. MEC offers Educational Scholarships to students who demonstrate scholastic achievement and community/school involvement and have clear future goals. High school seniors and continuing education students are eligible to apply.
For those pursuing a career in power, we have two Lineworker Scholarships available for students enrolling in a Montana-based line program.
Application details will be published in an upcoming issue of Rural Montana and shared on our Facebook page later this fall.
Youth Tour
High School sophomores and juniors – are you ready for the adventure of a lifetime? Each year, MEC sponsors one local student to attend the Electric Cooperative Youth Tour in Washington, D.C., alongside hundreds of students from across the country. It’s more than a trip—it’s a launchpad for leadership.
Essay applications go live Monday, November 3 and the deadline for applying is Friday, November 28 at 5 p.m. This year’s essay topic is: All cooperatives share a concern for their communities. Write how your local cooperative supports your community or detail new ways they could get involved.
