Borrow & Bolt EV Loan Program
PLUG INTO THE FUTURE OF TRANSPORTATION
Considering an electric vehicle (EV) but not sure it’s the right move for you? MEC recently launched Borrow and Bolt, a complimentary EV Loan Program for members. This program will allow you to get behind the wheel of an EV and and see how it might fit into your daily driving routine.
RESERVATIONS
For up to seven days, you can get behind the wheel of MEC’s 2022 Chevy Bolt and take it for a spin! Reserve the Bolt by completing the Borrow & Bolt Inquiry Form at the bottom of this page. Once submitted, a representative from our team will contact you within the next 24-48 business hours to confirm EV rental dates.
In the meantime, we ask that you complete our Electric Vehicle Loan Agreement form and bring a copy of the completed form with you to your scheduled pick up. Please note that at this time we are only accepting reservations for the Chevy Bolt.
PICK UP
On your scheduled pick-up day, stop by the Co-op at 1700 W. Broadway in Missoula weekdays from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Please bring a copy of your signed EV Loan Agreement, a valid driver’s license and a current insurance card. We ask that you plan for 10-15 minutes to do a routine vehicle inspection.
We recommend that you do not leave your personal vehicle at MEC while driving the Bolt. If you choose to leave it in our parking lot, please know that MEC is not liable for any lost, damaged, or stolen items.
CHARGING STATIONS
To find the nearest charging station, visit plugshare.com, scan the provided QR Code with your smart phone camera, or download the PlugShare app in the App Store or Google Play.
CHARGING
MEC will provide an at-home slow charger, located in the trunk of the Bolt, that can be plugged into a standard 120 V wall outlet.
On average, the EV will get 195-280 miles of range. Please keep in mind this will vary based on weather, driving habits, and charge.
Standard Wall Outlet Charging
4 miles of range per hour of charge or up to 69 hours when charged from empty (20%) to full (80%).
240 Volt Outlet Charging
26 miles of range per hour of charge or up to 9.5 hours when charged from empty (20%) to full (80%).
Commercial DC Fast Charging Station
About 1 hour to charge from empty (20%) to full (80%).
Run out of charge?
If you run out of charge and you’re not near a charging station, you’ll need to call a tow truck or AAA (if you’re a AAA member). *
*The member is responsible for any related fees.
